Department of Animal Science Research started its activity in 1991 with 6 researchers in two fields of animal science and veterinary medicine. In 1994, with the separation of duties, these two departments were separated from each other. The duties of the Animal Science Research Department include identifying and presenting scientific methods for optimal productivity of the potential and actual potential of livestock and poultry resources, preparation, implementation of national and provincial research projects, and investigation of technical issues and problems announced by the executive departments and producing units. The Animal Science Research Department is currently implementing its research activities in Fars province in the research fields of livestock and poultry nutrition, genetics and breeding, livestock and poultry physiology, management of livestock and poultry breeding, and honeybees.
